Michael Schläpfer is founder and security expert at FortIT. Previously, he worked for 5 years as Senior Security Solution Architect and Team Manager Application Security for United Security Providers AG. He has many years of practical knowledge in the areas of IAM, mobile, web applications, cloud, IT infrastructures and networks and knows the vulnerabilities and protective measures in these areas.
Michael Schläpfer studied computer science at the ZHAW and ETH Zurich and conducted research in the field of formal analysis of security protocols as part of his doctorate. He has authored numerous publications and has specialized in the areas of IT risk management, identity and access management and web application security.

Academic collaboration: As part of his teaching activities at ETH Zurich, he was responsible for setting up the Applied Security Laboratory and training students in ethical hacking. His teaching activities continue today at the FHNW on the subject of application security and zero trust.
